A DMX terminator is a small device inside of a XLR plug that “stops” the DMX from reflecting at the end of a line.  While some people recommend always using them, myself and other professionals have seen mixed results.  So, I don’t recommend always using them, but if you run into a problem go ahead a put one in – it might fix it!
