Online Training For Obsidian ONYX (formerly Martin M-PC and M-Series)

Aug 08, 2023

Elation’s Onyx software is hands-down my very favorite professional-grade software for running lights.

Not only is the software freely downloadable, but the hardware options are extremely cost-effective as well, and the people behind it are amazing.

Here on Learn Stage Lighting, I am happy to support and help people who are completely new to Onyx, and get them on their feet fast!

Whether you’ve worked with lighting before, or are brand new, I want to share with you the resources that I have to help you learn Onyx!

Free Resources to Learn ONYX

I don’t want to overwhelm you, but I have a pretty wide variety of free tutorials to get you started!

 Youtube Playlist:

Here on Youtube, I have a “getting started” playlist that will walk you quickly through the basics of getting started with Onyx, from launching the program to your first cues and FX.

Youtube Channel:

Shortcut Your Way With Learn Stage Lighting Labs

At the end of the day, the videos above may leave you confused or wanting more, and that’s totally okay.  I find that a lot of folks who are brand-new to Onyx can get lost easily, and that’s where I want to help.

Through a membership called “Learn Stage Lighting Labs”, I actually offer in-depth tutorials and support for Onyx over the internet.

So what does this mean for you?

This means that, for a low monthly, quarterly or yearly cost, you are able to log in and gain access to a whole library of training videos – showing you how to use Onyx and most importantly, how to apply it to your lighting.

Then, as you run into roadblocks or need specific help for your specific lights, myself and other lighting enthusiasts will help you in our user forums.

And because you may be new to Learn Stage Lighting, I want to give you the opportunity to try out Learn Stage Lighting Labs before you invest your hard-earned dollars in this premium support.
